Residing in a busy city like Bangalore is a big challenge. Being a Pharmacist, my job schedule is hectic but I still spare time for myself by shopping and most importantly travelling. I love to travel and share my experiences and one such memorable journey was from Bangalore to Chhattisgarh. I, Soumya Shetty chose to travel by air because I was looking for a comfortable as well as a quick journey. I decided to travel on two routes. My first route was from Bangalore to Mumbai and then from Mumbai to Raipur. So, I chose to travel by Indigo Airlines because it offers low fares along with on-time flights and a stress free experience. I decided to take the early morning flight because it would be hassle free to travel again from Mumbai to Raipur. I started in the morning at 5:20 am from Kempegowda International Airport, Bangalore. I feel that starting early in the day is bliss because once you reach your destination you get ample time to rest. My flight experience was simply awesome and very comfortable. The best part was I had downloaded the cleartrip app which I believe is the best travel app I have ever come across. With the help of this app, I kept myself updated with all minute details of the flight. Finally, my flight reached the Chhatrapati Shivaji Airport, Mumbai at around 6:55 am. My next flight was at 9:40 am and so I had enough time to check out the Mumbai Airport. While leaving early morning, it is impossible to gorge anything and so I relished some nice delicacies in the vicinity of the airport, followed by a nice nap in the waiting lobby. My next lap of journey kick started after I boarded the flight from Mumbai to Raipur. After a comfortable and cozy journey I finally reached Raipur at 11:25 am. I was so happy to have the next entire day to rest and also to explore some nearby places. First thing first, I checked out nice budget hotels and finally booked one. Now I had a big task of planning my itinerary.
Food is something that can bring people closer. This is what seemed to happen when I first tasted Garganelli pasta made by one of my Italian friend. The uniqueness of the dish lied in its processing, which was completely homemade. I could not resist but learn the recipe and also order a Garganelli comb (a kitchen tool) all over from Italy to make the dish myself. Garganelli pasta is a traditional Italian dish. Here I thought to share the recipe of this mouthwatering dish so that all of you can have the pleasure preparing this fresh platter at home. Ingredients 4 eggs 400 gm semolina flour 100 gm grated parmesan cheese 100 gm cooked hem 2.5 dl cream Nutmeg Butter Method First, take the flour in a bowl and add nutmeg and eggs. To this add the grated parmesan cheese and mix well into soft and silky dough. It may take around 10 minutes. Wrap the dough in a plastic sheet and keep in fridge for 30 minutes. Take out dough after 30 minutes, and make thin sheets out of it using rolling pins or pasta laminators (if you have). Now cut these sheets into 5cm/2 inches sections and roll each on the Garganelli comb starting from one point, ending to another. This will give the pasta shape. When all are done, let the Garganelli dry over a clean surface. Now to prepare the dish, boil water in a large pot, add some salt and pour Garganelli in it. Keep checking the pasta, and remove them when almost cooked (not completely). For the sauce, cut the ham into small square pieces. Take a deep frying pan over the stove and heat butter in it. Then, add the ham pieces. Pour the cream into the pan and reduce it to a thickness when it can coat pasta properly. Add Garganelli to it and mix well. Allow it to cook for a few more minutes and remove from stove. Our delicious and cheesy Garganelli pasta is ready to serve. You may garnish with a little more grated parmesan cheese. Enjoy the delightful treat.
