It was the end day of my journey to the city of Visakhapatnam. My experiences were manifold, with each visit as important as the other one. My quest of knowledge, exploration of India’s Heritage, splendid structures and the beautiful temples of Omnipresent God has been actively justified all through my journey. On the final verge of completing my expedition, my deep core heart wish to pay a tribute to Indian Army and our dedicated and sacrificing soldiers was accomplished with my visit to next destined place, War Memorial Visakhapatnam, fondly known as, ‘Victory at Sea’. The memorial was constructed to realize the honor and the memory of the Indian soldiers and the martyrs who gave up their life to serve the noble cause of protecting border and national integrity. It is located to the left of the beach road and the submarine museum facing it. The memorial was established after the victory of Indo-Pak War in 1971 by Eastern Naval Command, to commemorate such success. Boundaries with exclusive concrete walls, it holds the similarity with Amar Jawan Jyoti at India Gate, New Delhi, standing erect as a beautiful pyramid like structure. The memorial gives a date back celebration of the beat of PNZ Ghazi, submarine of Pakistan that gets drowned along the eastern coast of India near Visakhapatnam during the war. The major focus of the war memorial lies in its engravings at the base, evoking a sense of nationalism both on the visitors as well as the local people. The memorial has an ample collection of war weapons like machines, bombs, war vehicles, and missiles, with its main attraction T-55 tank showing the supremacy of the power of Indian Army and an Alizee fighter plane, signifying the ultimate authority of air force. The powerful missiles displayed within the memorial premises dated me back to the period of war scenes and its imaginations. A visit to War Memorial Visakhapatnam was a thorough learning on country’s history yet quite interesting and fun filled. The sight of real weapons and all the relics used during the 1971 War swayed me to the thoughts of the actual war picture. Thus the journey was ended with lots of tales and stories to be narrated to my friends and relatives and its memories would definitely linger in me all through my life.
Ramakrishna Beach Visakhapatnam : My friend’s wedding reception was organized near the Ramakrishna beach . We have never visited this beach before and it was a beautiful experience. This beach is amongst some of the most popular beaches in Visakhapatnam. The greenery around this beach makes it unique to the visitors. This beach is a must visit for the tourists.
Vuda Park Visakhapatnam : We were at Visakhapatnam to attend a friend’s wedding. During the trip we decided to check out the famous VUDA Park. I was there with my family. I must say that It is a perfect place to hang out with your family. We had a great time checking this place out.
Almost 3 quarters of the must visit Visakhapatnam attractions was accomplished but it would be early to surmise the trip for I had still few more destinations to go. So far, the splendor of nature, the local flavors, mighty and spiritual temples and the wildlife was been excavated, yet Indira Gandhi Zoological Park Visakhapatnam has its superiority to others within the state and to some others even within the country. The exotic flora and fauna, housed with distinct species of animals, the place is an actual Haven for animal’s lover and had been attracting large number of tourists from all over the country throughout the year. Located in the scenic Eastern Ghats and extending over an area of 635 acres, this peak is edged by hills on either of the sides and to the east lays the Bay of Bengal. The zoological park has exclusive variety of species and its rugged terrain provides animal with a comfortable surroundings matching to their habitats. The development process is still on swing, but its popularity has been increased manifold as compared to other zoos in the world. The well formulated plan layout of the park comprised of different sections for carnivores, small mammals, primates, birds, ungulates, lesser carnivores and reptiles. The sloth Bear and the Himalayan Bear are homed in large ditched enclosures. The unique and the splendid vegetation of the area make for the distinct ecology of the place as a result of which successful reproduction of the exotic fauna is replenished. The zoo authority takes proper care of the animal’s convenience and no hustling and bustling noise of the visitors affects the animals friendly environment, thus has become the major successful criteria of the premises. A special mini train ride was the most amusing part of my visit, an endeavor by the zoo authority to facilitate the visitors for the complete watch of wildlife through a ride on an open top train. The forest boundary and the soothing atmosphere for the animals please the visitors as well. A good communication ability and an ideal place to visit with family or friends for a short trip or picnic, Indira Gandhi Zoological Park Visakhapatnam had its deep impact on my travelling experience, then was the time to abode my last place of visit in the city, War Memorial Vishakhapatnam, a place of tribute to Indian soldiers. |
