The unpredictability of Hyderabad’s weather is such that it has faced major floods on several occasions. The city was always prepared for the natural disaster whether it is droughts or floods through the several artificial lakes and dams. The Hussain Sagar Lake and the Osman Sagar Dam are examples of such structures both built from the river Musi. The river Musi has been the major source of water for Hyderabad since ages.
The Hussain Sagar Lake has a number of resorts and lodges along its banks. House boats are also available for tourists at nominal costs. The city of Hyderabad is a modern city but throughout my trip I realised and observed that the workforce that supports the tourism industry of Hyderabad is constituted of simple Hyderabadi men and women who have pure and innocent hearts.
