The aga Khan Palace is on the Pune-Nagar road. Hence, I had to pick a bus to reach there. I woke up early in the morning, packed my bag and got hold of my camera and was all set to the Palace.
Usually one gets tired in the middle of the trip because the journey is not always hassle free. But for me, the journey was getting more and more exciting day by day. Exploring new places in the mysterious city was tempting me to dig more. Therefore, I welcomed every morning with pleasure and enthusiasm. Another place was yet to be explored, the Aga Khan Palace. The aga Khan Palace is on the Pune-Nagar road. Hence, I had to pick a bus to reach there. I woke up early in the morning, packed my bag and got hold of my camera and was all set to the Palace. The infrastructure of the Palace caught me. What a place!!! It had Italian arches and spacious lawns. The whole building comprised of five halls. It enthralled the eyes of every spectator with its radiance and scenic architecture. Historically the place is very significant. Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi have their memorials in the complex. They, along with their secretary Mahadev Desai were interned in the Palace before the Quit India Movement. The Palace is carved with a number of photos and portraits which depict glimpses from the life of Mahatma Gandhi. The Gandhi National Memorial Society is headquartered in the Palace. I was busy in taking snaps of the historical pictures for my collection. It was like I was reliving the history. There was a picture gallery and a museum too. The place was embarked with Mahurika nursery school, Kasturba Mahila Khadi Gramodyog Vidyalaya, Library and documentation center, Skill and vocational training center, UNHCR Refugee Guidance center, etc. A number of activities are organized throughout the year. These include the Martyr’s day, Mahashivratri, Independence Day, Republic day and Bapu’s birth anniversary. It is indeed a place of tourist attraction. I felt myself lucky to have a visit there. The place was magnificent and the knowledge gained on Indian history was immense and vast. I take interest in visiting spiritual and historical places. I must say that I am proud to be a citizen of the nation as the country is a plate full of proud moments.

Hi All! My heartfelt Republic Day wishes to one and all! I am really touched and inspired by these wordings. Yes it has a wealth of meaning..it is usually seen that we preach and get hassled on the fact that our country has many issues. Why not we take the initial step and be the change what we desire and set an example for others to follow.
Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium Pune : We recently visited the Famous Subrata Roy Sahara Stadium in Pune. This stadium is also known as Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium. It is a new stadium which was constructed recently in 2012. It was designed by the famous Hopkins Architects. It can accommodate around 34 thousand spectators.
Inorbit Mall Pune : This photograph was taken at the Inorbit mall in Pune. During my Pune trip, we went to the Inorbit mall to chill out. It is amongst the biggest chain of shopping malls built by Raheja groups. We had a wonderful time at this mall. It is always fun to visit Inorbit mall.
The next day morning of Pune welcomed me in a graceful manner. With a smile, I remembered that it was time to meet another surprise and Pune was waiting for me to show its colors again. I reached the Swargate Bus Station, about six kilometers from the railway station. Under the reservation of a seat in bus, I went to the Saras Baug, situated within a kilometer from the bus station. As I have heard about the place, the Saras Baug temple deserves to be visited often. The temple was constructed within three miles, that is, 4.8 kilometers, of Parvati Temple. This place was literally the primary residence of the head of the Maratha confederacy in the 18th and 19th century. The beautiful Ganesh Temple in Saras Baug represented a divine presence in the temple. The Ganesh Temple is known as the Talyatla Ganpati. I bowed down the idol and took blessings and Prasad. Roving deep inside the temple was much more fascinating. There were various idols and carvings of gods and goddesses inside the temple. Roaming around the temple I interacted with the priests of the temple and some other native people. I got to know the rich history behind its existence which I would definitely share it with you. The place where the park stands was preoccupied by a small lake. When the lake dried up and this was later developed into Sara Baug. It is the whole 25-acre complex. The construction of the temple was completed in 1784 on the completion of the idol of Hindu Lord Ganesh. In the last 219 years, the temple got through many modifications and renovations. The last renovation was in 1969 in which a zoo called Peshwe Park was added to the Saras Baug. This turned the Baug into a garden cum temple. The Saras Baug marked the history of the city and the day spent at the temple marked my journey. It was another wonderful day owing to the knowledge and experience that made my life. This was a memory to be cherished forever. I started to my next place of destination, Aga Khan Palace.
