The visit to the interesting State museum of Shimla was an interesting one; the next place that I decided to visit was the Tara Devi temple of the city. Tara Devi is one of the most famous temple of the city and Tara Devi is one of the most worshipped Goddesses of the state. She is said to give her followers anything they desired to have.
The location of the temple is even more exotic which could make anyone fall in love with it. The breathtaking view of the mountain can make anyone captivate by its enigma and beauty. The temple is ocated at a height of about 1900 metres above the sea level.
The temple is located at a distance of about 11 km from the city of Shimla. It can be reached by bus, taxi and even rails. The history associated with the temple is very interesting. It is some 250 year old temple and was built by one of the rulers of Sen Dynasty of Bengal when he had come to visit the Himachal Pradesh. He saw Tara Devi in his dreams who wanted that she should be available for the local public to pray. The King immediately started construction work for a temple.

Today the temple stands on its entire splendour on top of a hill and is one of the most prominent attractions in Shimla. The idol of the temple is carved out of Ashtadhatu a very rare combination of eight elements. The idol was got installed in a very grand fashion by taking out a very huge procession on top of an elephant whose name was Shankara. The trip to tara Devi was an amazing and unforgettable experience. Mind body and soul felt a divine peace and the solitude and the quietude was simply amazing. I felt like staying at this place for at least some times.
The place was a wonderful location to stay away from the mechanical and stressed city life where all we do is race for money, status and power which places like these make us realise are all worthless and all one really needs in life is a Calm and peaceful mind which is relaxed and stress free.
The next place which we visited was the famous Chadwick falls of Shimla.
