The amazing trip to the Chadwick Falls rejuvenated my body and soul, the next place that we decided to visit was Reserve Forest Sanctuary of Shimla. The sanctuary is situated at a distance of 11 km away from Shimla and very close to the NH 22. The reserve forest sanctuary is considered an ideal place for wildlife lovers and the nature enthusiasts like me. It is spread across a area of 951 hectares and the reserves has varying altitudes from 2000m to 2700 m.
At this sanctuary you can behold the breathtaking views of Deo Tibba, Shali, Bandar poonch and Rakta Dhar and some other amazing huge mountains of Himalayas. The wildlife refuge of this sanctuary is populated by vivid flora and fauna.

The Himalayan deoder, pine, oak, and chestnut and maple are the most found trees in the sanctuary. The place is also inhabited by trees like the weeping willows and the silver oaks, during the monsoon season blueberries, strawberries grow in abundance. The rich wildlife of this sanctuary includes the barking deer, jackal, leopards and birds like the Himalayan eagles.
The most amazing aspect of this wildlife sanctuary was the nine perennial streams including the amazing Churat Nala and God ki Nala flowing through the area. This is a major supply of water for Shimla. There is also a small village named Chharabra, which serves as the summer retreat of the President of India and the governor of Punjab.

As a result tourists need prior permission before visiting the place. The sanctuary is good not only because of the amazing wildlife and the vegetation but als the immense opportunities for trekking, and mountaineering. The reserve forest sanctuary is a perfect for all the nature lovers around the country.
The picturesque environment of the beautiful Reserve Forest Sanctuary encouraged me to indulge in some photography. I captured the rich flora and fauna, the amazing wildlife and the view of the distant snow clad mountains compelled me to click more and more pictures of the surroundings. It is a must visit place for all the lovers of nature and the peace seekers.
