So the next day, I woke up again with a fresh start, had a light meal at the resort. This time I enjoyed the Pyramsia to have a bit of taste of the Chinese recipe. To put my thirst to rest, I planned to visit another museum, not too far from this place, the Mahatma Phule Museum. And, I stepped out and got a rickshaw just outside the resort.
I reached there just in time. The outer view of the museum astonished me and I became sure that I would get all the answers to my questions on history of India. The museum not only represented the history but also the scientific inventions, discoveries, and phenomenon. It was a complete combo package of social studies and science. There were various sections in the museum. These sections include pictures, charts, models, and machines and science models. The displays referred to the industrial culture and engineering, geology facts, minerals, handicrafts and cottage industries, agriculture, forestry, etc.
There were some more charts which depicted various forts in Pune district. People were made to know the pride and history of Pune. The section which enclosed the natural history also had a taxidermy collection of various species of animals, birds, insects, snakes and fishes. Moreover, the industrial section has the models of Indian hydro-electric and irrigation projects. The oil refining methods which explain the scientific agriculture is also portrayed as a model in one of the sections.
Well, the familiarity with the museum was growing unlimited. The museum has a library since its commencement. The library has those books which cover a variety of subjects, especially on ancient technologies. I spent few hours there and captured ideas from some of the books.
I bought a copy of the monthly publication of the museum, Srishtidnyan, explaining scientific development. The closing time of the museum approached and so I had to take leave.
